Gundam Factory Yokohama which is located in the heart of Yokohama, Japan was originally planned to open by October 2022 to both celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Gundam franchise and for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but the construction of the exhibit was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Also due to the pandemic, the closing date was delayed to March 31, 2023.
The moment we heard that the borders of Japan were fully open we grabbed the flight ticket and planned our way to pay a visit before the display period ended. We were awestruck as the massive robot performed impressive movements and light displays, bringing the world of "Gundam" to life in front of our very eyes.
